What Is a Silicone Masking Cap?
A silicone masking cap is a heat-resistant cover that fits over bolts, studs, pipe ends, rods, and other external protruding parts during powder coating, anodizing, or spray painting. It prevents overspray from coating the protected surface, ensuring clean, sharp lines and eliminating post-process cleaning.
Unlike tapered plugs that go into holes, masking caps go over external parts. If you're protecting threads on the outside of a part — not inside a hole — this is the right choice.
